what is a full throttle start?

I recently purchased a new car, and the owner's manual advises against attempting a full throttle start. Can someone explain what a full throttle start is and why it might be advised against?

Using full throttle. There is no need to touch the throttle when starting a newer vehicle.

if you turn the key with the gas pedal all the way to the floor, that is a full throttle start. it does bad things to an engine.

on some gms, it shuts off the injectors to clear the cylinders in the event of a flooded engine.

Basically slamming on the throttle while starting the car. Potentially floods the engine (in urban myths). My recommendation? Do what you want and deal with it/pay for it later. No point in gunning an engine trying to start it unless you have a fuel delivery clog.

When you put the accelerator to the floor and then turn the key to start it. Absolutely the worst thing you can do to an engine short of smashing the whole car up.

When you try to start the car with the gas pedal pushed to the floor.

pushing the gas pedal down to and cranking it to start it.

i do this on my 73 f100, just because the carb isnt tunned right, but it still works everytime

its bad because you can flood the engine, or rev the engine without it being warmed up to proper temp which can cause excessive wear on internal components

Holding the gas pedal all the way down while cranking the engine.

Pushing the gas all the way down and starting most new cars cannot be started this way.
