Hypoallergenic isn’t actually a ‘thing’ it’s a marketing term, it doesn’t really mean anything at all, (Clinique use Hypoallergenic, Dermatologist and Ophthalmologist tested as a selling point, but they don’t actually say that the doctors approved/recommended them, just tested them) Also, just because it’s natural doesn’t mean that it’s not going to cause a reaction, in fact most of the things people are allergic too are natural products or by products rather than synthetic. a brand that claim to be natural are BareMinerals/Bare Essentuals, but they use Bismuth Oxide in their foundation, and that makes my face itch like crazy! Are you using high end or drug store eyeshadows? the first thing I would say that if you’re not using them already, switch to high end, most of the time these contain higher quality ingredients which I find generally cause less breakouts or reactions in most people, I’ll list some good brands to try. Laura Mercier – High quality, pigmented and smooth, lovely eyeshadows and I’ve never known any client with sensitive eyes to react to themMAC – again, similar to Laura Mercier, nice eyeshadows, good colour range, not too painful of a price either. Clinique – even after what I said above, I do normally find them to be nice eyeshadows. Urban Decay – Avoid the glittery shades (unless you want glitter all over your face, each to their own) these are nice too, and have some vegan colours.Mineral Make Up (various companies) hit and miss, but often more ‘natural’ Boots No.7 (Boots in the UK, Target in the USA) make a mascara specifically for sensitive eyes. With most of these companies, you can go to their counter, as for them to try some on you and see if you react, if you do you know to avoid, or try a different combination (try a base or without a base, eyeliner or without)Another tip would be stick to neutrals, this sounds a bit weird but a lot of pigments/colourings can irritate skin, it’s different for different people, red or pink is the most common irritant, so stay away from those. Also avoid glitter! the glitter partials could be irritating you.If you do find you have a reaction, remove with a make up remover like Bioderma (harder to get hold of in the USA) Lancome Bi Facial (takes most make up off super easy, wet the pad, place it on your closed eye for 15 seconds and wipe it all away) you could then spray your face (eyes closed!) with a Spray like Avene Thermal Water, which is really soothing for skin, my sister in law has such sensitive skin sometimes water can irritate it, but this works well for her, and old school but good trick as well, is slices of cucumber which cools and soothes, so after removing, place these on your eyes for 5-10 minutes and let them soothe skin.If none of this helps, go see your doctors, you could have an allergy or a problem with your eyes.Good Luck! and let me know if anything helps!...
