What is the common name for CH2?
What is the common name for CH2?
I’m curious about CH2 on its own, similar to how H2O is known as water. If H2O is to water, then CH2 is to _____. I assure you, this isn’t a question from a worksheet; I genuinely want to know.

Just CH2 alone, like how H2O is water?
H2O is to water as CH2 is to _____.
And I swear that’s not really a question in a worksheet or anything, I just wanted to know.

Diethyl ether, also known as ether and ethoxyethane, is a clear, colorless, and highly flammable liquid with a low boiling point and a characteristic smell. It is an isomer of butanol. Diethyl ether has the formula CH3-CH2-O-CH2-CH3. It is used as a common solvent and has been used as a general anesthetic. Ether is sparingly soluble in water (6.9 g/100 ml).
A typo?
C2H2 is acetylene, IUPAC name if ethyne. CH2…. a bad attempt at hydrocarbon or CH3- methyl…..
