acute fracture is when the fracture just happens, non-acute or chronic fractures are those who some call non-union fractures ... this means that the bone is not healing ... it is not depositing enough calcium and instead you have an area of bone that is not healing ...... Show More

Acute means sudden. So I suppose if you had a weakening of a bone for awhile that wasn't completely fractured, that would be non-acute.... Show More
