2.8 inches on a ruler?? where is it?!?!?

Where is 2.8 inches on a ruler?? im looking at the side that says 1/8 and it has 7 little lines between the big 2 and the big 3 which little line marks 2.8? the 7th line before the big 3?? cause when i count to line number 8 its at 3 inches.. I HATE RULERSI know its the stupidest question on earth! but help!!
