it means overseas filipino worker, its was made short for people who get jobs abroad who want to help support there families and stuff like that. you can also buy ofw sim cards from globe, if you get this they can text you in any country for 1 peso, but charges 25 pesos for you to txt them, so it could be cheaper to have 2 phones because your mobile carrier in that country myt have cheaper txt msgs to send....
