What should I wear for Home Depot orientation tomorrow?

I just got hired for a part time sales job at home depot. I’ve never had a job without wearing a suit or just my normal casual clothes. I’m in college and I’m in my early 20s. What should I wear for my orientation tomorrow? A nice dress shirt and khakis? I hope to get some opinions soon so I have time to go to Ross.

A polo and khakis or jeans would be fine. Don’t dress up too much.When you are actually working you will have to wear a shirt with a collar and jeans (or whatever pants you want, i guess.) Most people wear jeans.. its actually pretty informal. They don’t expect you to know what to wear since they teach you that at orientation so its not that big of a deal. Just don’t look too sloppy and you’ll be fine.

Why is it that most of the news stories we see about civil rights related matters are about such trivial things? Where are the news stories about people being unjustly imprisoned, denials of due process, atrocious search and seizure violations, and the taking away of private property under pretext by local officials who want to make a financial gain? All of these things happen, but we rarely hear about them in the news. And the ACLU also does not take on cases of substance. The cashier violated a company dress policy. Home Depot has a right to have such a policy. It has to consider the rights and feelings also of its customers and other employees.

Clothes you don’t want ruined, like old jeans & t-shirt. Otherwise, it’ll get dirty and probably ripped when they start making you do other crap around the store.
