80s song that goes “na na, na na na, nanananananana”?
I suddenly have a song stuck in my head, and I can't remember its title. It's an 80s or early 90s song that begins with "na na, na na na, nanananananana," which I believe is repeated in the chorus. I think it's a new wave song, and initially, I thought it might be by Kajagoogoo or Howard Jones, but I'm not convinced it's by either of them. Also, it's important to note that it is NOT "Centerfold" or "The Look." Can anyone help me identify this song?

Hmmm you have me wondering now..... When I first saw that I thought of a Song called "So What" by P!nk. Because she starts with na na, na na na na na, nanananana. Also did it have the words "I want to start a fight" in it? If so then that is it but it is no 80s song I don't think?? Check it out and let me know if I'm right. If not keep updating me and hopefully we'll find it!
Rich girl by Gwen Stefani. As in "a na, na na na, nanananananana, If I was a rich girl, nanananana, see I'd have all the money in the world, if I was a wealthy girl."
Could it be Na Na Hey Hey Kiss him Goodbye? Words go, "NaNaNaNa NaNaNaNa Hey Hey Goodbye." First released in 1969 by a group called Steam and then Bananarams covered it in the 1980's
3rd ADD: You can find the Top 100 songs from each year (radio play) at musicoutfitters.com.
This will best help you comb-through in finding what you're searching for.
:^)
2nd ADD: Help us out here...is it UPbeat? Is it melancholic? Was it on the radio a lot?
Is it maybe one of those "known deep-tracks"?
ADD: Ok, I'll keep on it and return hopefully soon.
Fwiw...I'm fairly adept at the genre per Howard Jones, Thompson Twins etc. Back when I can.
Bananarama did a remake of something like "Na Na, Kiss Him Goodbye"
also
there's "Blue (Da Ba Dee)" from Eiffel 65.
Either of them?
I keep focusing on stuff from who I think should be too easy/obvious, like
Duran Duran, Missing Persons, The Fixx, A Flock Of Seagulls, Berlin, the Eurythmics, George Michael, etc...
[[From my Original first attempt, now irrelevant]]:
Lovin, Touchin, Squeezin' by Journey perhaps.
Believe it or not, Sheryl Crow has one from her first album titled, "The Na Na Song"...maybe that one?
Sounds like a song Rowan Atkinson released in 2000 called "Life is a Rollercoaster". He starts off the song by singing "na na na na naaa".
You may be thinking of "Land Of 1,000 Dances". Originally done by Chris Kenner (1963), it didn't do too well until Cannibal And The Headhunters covered it in 1965 and had a decent hit with it. Wilson Pickett also did well with it in 1966. The J.Geils Band also covered it, as well as a lesser known band, Electric Indian.
"Na na na" by my chemical romance possibly? the only song I know that is like that but I'm probably wrong cuz they were formed in 2001 but oh well XD
it might also be P!nk's "so what" but that was also quite recent
