Where can I get a sugar glider in San Diego Ca?
I'm aware that sugar gliders are illegal to own in California, but I'm willing to obtain the necessary permits or licenses if required. Could someone point me in the right direction or connect me with someone in the San Diego area who can guide me in caring for and spoiling these adorable little creatures?

Don't hate me for saying it, but you'll have a REALLY rough time finding sugar gliders, especially if you plan to get one that's tame and has been handled (i.e. through a breeder). If you get turned in for having one, they'll be taken away, possibly euthanized if they can't get ahold of an organization to take it out of state plus a heafty fine. Permits aren't given out in CA for exotics...
Sorry! Just stating the facts, I live in OR and will never go to CA for more than a week because I can't have my gliders with me :(...

To say that you don't care that they're illegal and that you want one anyway is so completely irresponsible and smacks of immaturity. California does NOT give out permits or licenses for gliders; they are illegal plain and simple. The previous poster is right in that they euthanize seized animals more often than not. Could you really be responsible for an animals death just because YOU wanted one? Look into other pets; there are plenty that are just as interesting and would be a better fit for you're living situation.

Yes. Sugar gliders, along with almost all exotic animals, are illegal to have in the state of California. It's primarily for environmental reasons. The concern is that the climate is hospitable and they could easily establish populations in the wild and compete with native species for resources. It's quite selfish to own illegal animals in California. If caught, the animals are seized and euthanized.
