Before becoming a member of the Beatles, he used to work as a telephone engineer and a part-time bouncer at a Cavern club. It was in the year 1963, when he started to work for the Beatles. He contributed in many recordings of the Beatles and he was the one who played Organ notes in the song, ‘You Won’t see me’ and harmonica. On the song, ‘A Day in the Life’ he controlled an alarm clock where he counted the measures in the 24 bar pause and he was also one among the five piano players to hit the last chord of the song.
