Why does a glass filled with a cold beverage seem to "sweat"? Would you expect to see more condensation inside a house during the summer or in the winter? Please explain your reasoning.

It depends on the relative humidity. The location with more relative humidity will cause more “sweating” or condensation on the outside of the glass.

This will usually be indoors, since it is usually drier indoors, thanks to air conditioners in the summer, and heaters in the winter.

There is always water vapor present in the air (some times more than others). The amount of water vapor in the air depends on the temperature.

Hot air can hold much more vapor than cold air. So cold drink is cooling down the air next to it and the water vapor is condensing on the side of the glass.

Outside air usually contains more moisture since heaters and some air conditioners tend to dry the air, so I would expect more condensation outside.

This is the same technique I have taught over 138,000 men and women in 157 countries to successfully treat their excessive sweating condition over the past 7 years!
