Why are only the outermost electrons included in the electron dot diagram? Could you explain the significance of these electrons in relation to chemical bonding and reactivity?

the outermost electrons are called the valence electrons, and these valence electrons are responsible for chemical reactions. the inner electrons do not have participation in chemical reactions.
they are the ones that aren’t stable, so they can be shared or taken away. The other orbitals with the other electrons are full, meaning they have all the electrons they need, so they are stable.
