15 x ≥ 200

x ≥ 40/3

x ≥ 13⅓ hours to be worked

earnings per hour times hours = earnings

e/h * h =e

15 *h =200

h=200/15

well you can come up with a ratio. so if he’s earning $15 an hour, you can say it’s 15:1.

Times that 15 by 13.3 to at least get 200, and do it to the other side of the ratio as well. so you’ll get 199.95:13.3, meaning the painter would have to work at least 13.3 hours to get $200

$200 (1hr/$15) the dollars cancel leaving hrs

(200/15) hr= 13.33 hr

Most problems like this can be solved simply by canceling units.
