why is corn called an “ear of corn”?
What is the origin of the term "ear of corn"? Why is corn referred to in this way? Is there a connection to human ears, or does the term come from something else?

An “ear” is the flowering part of a plant that is spiked or elongated in shape, like that of grasses. Corn is a grass, the “ear of corn” is the flower spike that we eat.

so yeah? why? is it associated with ears or something?
It’s not because it “looks like an ear”.
It comes from “Ahs” the Gothic word for “husk of corn”. Many dictionaries and encyclopedias will include this etymology.
