ELF is so cheap because it is cheap quality. I wouldn’t waste even a cent on any of their products. They’re amateur for children to play with and I’ve tossed everything from them or given them to my niece to play with.Their brushes are all horrible quality and I laugh when people compare them to MAC or high end brushes. First off they have a nauseating smell no matter how or what you wash them with. They also shed like crazy from day one. Is this the type of brush you are interested in using? All of their cosmetics come with enough for a few uses only. I know that you’re only spending a few bucks tops but come on. The casing or packaging breaks apart easily or cracks. Their foundations/powders look cakey no matter how you apply them, no matter how good the primer. Their eyeshadows crease even with eyelid primer and have horrible pigmenting. Their blushes/bronzers same thing. I think the girls who claim that their MAC or NARS dupes have never tried the original products to make these claims… They are kidding themselves. Their lipglosses also smell horrible and are sticky. Their mascaras again smell and clump, do not lengthen, volumize or separate.I’m not a makeup snob and I’m not trying to be negative. I’m just being honest about what a waste ELF is. I’m a makeup artist but still love hunting for dupes and bargains. What girl or makeup loving boy doesn’t? I have drawers filled with Revlon, Almay, NYX, Physicians Formula, Hard Candy, Coastal Scents, Prestige, Palladio, Sonia Kashuk, Milani, even some WetnWild +NYC products etc. ELF just doesn’t cut it. The only positive about it is that its cruelty free....
