WHY IS MY PUPPY SHAKING DURING HIS SLEEp????
I just got a new puppy, and sometimes during his sleep, he shakes noticeably and his eyes open halfway. It seems like he's really looking at something. I'm not sure what to do about this behavior. Can anyone provide some insight or advice?

believe it or not dogs dream and his eyes open because he thinks he is looking at something but he ‘s not sometimes they will whimper or move their legs as if they are swimming or running.also sometimes in very young pup like from newborns to soemtimes 8 wks their bodies will twich or shake a lot and this is because it’s the body’s way for the bones to continue developing there is no cause for alarm unless if your pups wakes up or wake him if he staggers or looks confused then he could be having seizures in which case he needs to be diagnosed by avet.

He is just dreaming and being in a new surrounding probably scares him and makes his dreams really nightmares. Spend a lot of time with him during the day and maybe sleep with him at night for a while to let him know nothings going to hurt him there.
Hi, I understand that you are looking for some advice or resources to help fully train your dog or fix behavior problems. If a professional dog trainer is not an option at this time, or if you want to trt training your dog on your own (a great way to bond), I’d suggest you https://tinyurl.im/4AT2u
A friend recommened it to me a few years ago, and I was amazed how quickly it worked, which is why I recommend it to others. The dog training academy also has as an excellent home training course.
My best guess is that your pup is dreaming. My dog who is about 10 sometimes shakes and whimpers in her sleep. Sometimes she even moves her legs. I wake her up just in case she’s having a nightmare but then I wonder “Maybe she was dreaming of chasing a squirrel?”

My guess is you’re asking because you think he might be having a seizure. No worries…as everyone has already said, he’s just dreaming.
If you want to make sure, you can call your vet for verification, but your little guy should be just fine.
