Approximately how far, in cm, does the blood move during one beat?
A somewhat idealized graph illustrates the speed of blood flow in the ascending aorta during one cardiac cycle. Based on this graph, please estimate how far blood travels during a single heartbeat. Additionally, assume similar flow characteristics for blood movement within your aorta. Considering that the distance from the heart to the brain is approximately 30 cm, how many heartbeats would it take for blood to travel from your heart to your brain?

From the graph I would guess the average velocity of the blood during the beat is about .5 m/s a little less probably but pretty close to .5
Figure out the distance by v=d/s or.5m/s=d/.2s
you get .1m per beat or 10 cm per beat.
It would take three beats to travel 30cm.
At least that is my take on it.
