Are incoming police dispatch records available for public record?

Question

I’m fighting a court case with my former employer and need police records to prove he either didn’t call the police or if he did what time he called, in an effort to show a time line. I was told to have info such as date, approximate time, phone number the call would have come from, location of business and name of person who placed the call. Which I do have all this info. Do you know what kind of time I’m looking at to get all this information? I’m going to call the police records department tomorrow morning to find out if I can get these record at all, then drive to the department to hopefully retrieve the records. Any other info I might need or advice you can give me would be much appreciated. Thanks much!

It depends on what state you live in. In Ky all recorded calls and transmissions are public records unless they are coming from a confidential informant. What state is this in and I will look more into it for you?

Been in the same situation and you can get a copy of the call log which tells you the time the call was placed. Contact the 911 Comm Center Supervisor they will tell you how to go about obtaining it.

They may not be able to give it to you. You may need to have the court subpoena the records with the info you have.
