Are most roommates okay with not being friends with their roommates?

Once I get a full time job I’m thinking of getting a roommate so that I don’t have to live with my mother anymore. My thing is this, I want to be alone and I really don’t like people. I don’t want a friendship with my roommate or anything, I’ll probably just stay in my room whenever i’m not at work anyways. Are most roommates okay with that? Do you think they will kick me out because of it?
