Average 40 yard dash time for a 12 year old who is almost 13?

What is the average 40 yard dash time for a 12 year old who is almost 13? I think it's about 5.5 seconds. I ran it last year in 6.45, and since then I cut it down to 6.07.

on my football team (12 year olds, some 13) we all did 40 yard dashes, im pretty fast and ran a 6.2 , but the average is NOT 5.5, the fastst people in my whole grade could only run aorund 5.6, most people ran in the mid-high 6s to the mid low 7s (6.7-7.3). so id say your pretty fast.

I am 13 and a half and Im playing football for my school and we did a 40 yard dash and i got 5.7 seconds so that should be aboit average depending on your weight, but i wasnt the fastest. The fastest time for my team was 5.3 seconds

when I was 12 I could run a 6 flat. I don't know if your in pads because if you are 6.2 is quick. but if your not in pads your a little slower then average or at least for my team. on my team the fast time was a 4.9 that was by a 12 year old who is super fast. the average for your age is about 5.5- 6.4. im 13 now and I got faster I can run a 5.25 tops.

My son is 12 almost 13 and runs track events. He just ran a 5.53. That is not average! I would say an average time would be 6-6.3.

My 13 yr old ran his 1st 40 at 5.1 (laser) in March 2015 at age 12. And then in June 5.03 at age of 13. We worked on starts and got down to 4.85 at a high school combine but he's only in 8th grade. Lastly ran at a football showcase in Sept and ran his best at 4.70. It won't matter what the time is at this age but if they but the work in and progress is what's important.

I got an average of 3 runs when my son was 11 and he ran a 6.54. Now he's 13 and ran a 5.99. He's always been one of the fastest on the team and in the top tear of the fastest in whatever league he played in.
