Can I sell a used hospital bed?

It is clean and in good condition. It was used while my elderly mother lived at home with a nurse. If I can sell it, what would be the best way to do so. A medical company, ebay, a hospital?

I know of no legal reason you couldn’t sell it, provided she didn’t have a contagious disease. There may be used hospital supply companies in your area who would purchase it from you, or sell it for you for commission. Otherwise, you might try Craigslist. I think shipping a hospital bed would be more hassle than it would be worth, so if you list it on eBay, keep that in mind.

If you’re looking to sell a used hospital bed, you should advertise it in a local newspaper. A nursing home or hospital would not be able to take it due to Dept. of Health regulations. In MN it is illegal to sell a hospital bed. The reason is to protect the public from the spread of contagious disease.
