Can tanning oil go bad?
I have some Banana Boat dark tanning oil that I've had for quite a long time. It has just been sitting around for an unknown period. Does tanning oil expire or go bad over time? If so, how can I tell if it's still safe to use?

YUK !!! If in doubt, throw it out!
Yes, oil can go rancid, and some rather nasty bacteria can grow in tanning lotions and oils.
If you’re determined not to throw it out, rub the back of your hand across your face – to pick up some of the natural oils you exude from your facial pores.
Then rub a tiny spot of tanning oil on the back of your hand, what does it smell of? That smell is the oil from your skin mixing with the tanning oil.
At any stage, if you find that the smell is odd or unusual, or if the skin on the back of your hand gets itchy or reddens – dump it and wash your hands with plenty of warm soapy water.
