Can you spell words backwards in Scrabble?
My brother insists that you can spell words backwards in Scrabble, while I firmly believe that you cannot. Can anyone clarify this for us? If you're unsure about what I'm referring to, I've included an example here: http://s40.photobucket.com/albums/e226/x_xnevermor...

Hoyle’s rules would say that is bad form. Strictly speaking it is breaking the rules. BUT if all players agree on allowing that BEFORE the game begins then have fun with it and you do it too.
I had a group of friends I played Scrabble with and we would always agree on some quirky twist before the came began: Contractions, Urban slang, Phonetic spelling, etc. It adds a fresh angle to the game.

my rules don’t say but it would be fun to play a game and ONLY spell backwards.. that would really take some thinking… I want to try it..
