CHEMISTRY HELP !! 10 POINTSSSSS?
I need help with determining the oxidation numbers for the CNO⁻ ion. I understand that the oxidation state of oxygen is typically -2. However, I would greatly appreciate it if you could also provide the oxidation numbers for carbon and nitrogen in this compound, along with an explanation of how you arrived at those values. Thank you!

The more electronegative element is assigned the negative oxidation number.
CNO1-
O = -2
N = -3 (more electronegative than C)
C = +4
The sum of these oxidation numbers is -1, the same as the overall charge on the ion.
