So it is probably bear, depending on what you are trying to say, though.

I'm a hard polytheist. Of the Wiccans I've actually talked deeply with on this subject - so I'm not including a lot of Wiccans that I know - there are some that believe that all gods are faces of one god. I know none that believe in only a Lord and a Lady. Of the ones that believe the all gods one god concept, (still talking about those I really know) about half are actually really atheists or probably a better description is agnostic - and it's an easier concept for them to wrap their head around because they just aren't sure if the gods exist at all. This is what they've said at least.
Using the spelling "bear" the word has two meanings. As Mariette points out, it can mean a type of animal. However it can also be used as a verb such as "to bear the weight of something."
"Hard to bear " is probably what you are looking for, as "hard to bare" would only be used on the odd (but possibly interesting) occasion.

Gardner, in the Ardanes, as well as in his writings, writes of a minimum of three gods, two worshipped by his witches and a third opposed to them. He was no doubt a polytheist, and a hard one to boot. I would like to see one shred of evidence otherwise. One shred of evidence for Wiccan pantheism, too. Even Valiente's charge is to "she of many names", the goddess of the Villa of the Mysteries. She of many names is NOT "all goddesses." Athena is Minerva, but she is not Hera. Admittedly, the Gardnerians themselves can be blamed for not allowing all their materials to be shared with the public and therefore allowing ridiculous concepts like Wiccan pantheism or monotheism to come into existance. You will be hard pressed to find any serious student of Wicca who gets past initiation, or its equivalent, with the idea of gender ditheism. The Lord and Lady of the traditional liturgy have names, and are part of a Pantheon. There is also room for other gods, if you grasp the cosmology.
Hard to bear = Hard to take.
Hard to bare = Not comfortable with his clothes off.
