How did actions of the Spanish during the Cuban Revolution affect American attitudes?

How did the actions of the Spanish during the Cuban Revolution influence American attitudes? Many Americans opposed the brutal tactics employed by the Spanish, viewing them as inhumane. Conversely, some believed that the Spanish were taking a reasonable approach to managing the Cuban Revolution. Additionally, there was a sense of relief among Americans when the Spanish accepted assistance to help resolve the conflict. However, many felt that the Spanish should have engaged in negotiations with the rebel leader, José Martí, much sooner.

A. Americans opposed the brutal tactics of the Spanish.Explanation:The Cuban revolt was in fact inevitable. The revolt against the Spanish empire after the years of mistreatment of the native Cubans by the Spanish government was not a surprise. Moreover, the whole scenario was further pushed and fuelled by yellow journalism. This kind of journalism reached new popularity during this period. The Spanish rule in Cuba was also opposed by many Americans. Many Americans supported America when it favoured the Cubans to get their freedom from Spain.

The correct answer is A) Americans opposed the brutal tactics of the Spanish. The Cuban revolt against the Spanish empire was bound to happen after over a century of mistreatment to the natives of Cuba by the Spanish government. Thanks to the use of yellow journalism, a popular writing style during this era, many Americans opposed Spanish rule in Cuba and favored America intervening to help the Cubans gain independence from Spain.
