How do I get my Kik to not be stuck on “Connecting”? (read details)?
Since five days ago, my Kik app has been stuck on “Connecting” at the top of the screen. Each message I’ve sent is stuck on “s.” I believe the issue is not related to my connection, as my WiFi and cellular data are functioning properly for all other applications on my phone. I can search for content, log in, and perform other tasks within the app; it’s just the main messages page that remains stuck on “Connecting.”
I have tried closing the app and stopping background activity at least a hundred times. I’ve toggled my phone’s connection on and off and restarted my phone at least a dozen times. As a last resort, I logged out, deleted the app, and then redownloaded it, which I’ve now done multiple times, but this has erased my entire chat history.
I’ve never encountered a problem like this before, where even deleting the app hasn’t resolved the issue. I am using an iPhone X with iOS 12 and the latest version of Kik. Is there anything else I can try? Thank you so much for your help.

Having the same issue. I’ve done everything OP did and everything suggested in comments. Still no luck.
Good troubleshooting so far. There are a couple things I would try since you’ve already tried so much already.
1) you mention being on iOS 12. Are you on the latest update? 12.1.2?
2) This will sound odd but it often relates to a lot of connection problems. Go to Settings > General > Date and Time > turn Set Automatically off, wait a few seconds, then turn it back on. If it’s already off, turn it on.
3) Go to settings > cellular > wait until the list of apps load, scroll down to Kik, then turn that switch off, then back on.
4) Last thing to try would be to reset your network settings. You can do this by going to Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings. You will have to reconnect to your saved Wi-Fi networks and some bluetooth devices.
If none of those work, comment on this and Ill give you some more stuff to do next.
