how do you get paler?

I have fairly tanned arms, hands, and feet, as well as some tan on my face, but the rest of my body is quite pale. I would like to achieve a more uniform skin tone, as I feel it looks strange to have such a contrast. I tend to be an indoor person and spend most of my time inside, often wearing a sweatshirt and jeans when I do go out. This has been my routine for about two years now, and despite this, my arms remain noticeably tan.

I'm curious, once you develop a tan, does it last indefinitely? I have trouble getting naturally paler, so any advice on how to achieve a more even skin tone would be greatly appreciated.

” when i do go outside i always wearing a sweatshirt and jeans. and that’s been the case for about 2 years, now, but nothings really happened. “

Your skin will only get as pale as your: palms, thighs, or belly. It is not going to get LIGHTER if your good genes doesn’t have that.

I WAS TANNED for 13 years growing up in Asia, and it took about 13 years of trying to protect my skin to the color you see now. I was tanned for 4 hours, sitting in the shade outside, but the sunset car’s window was reflecting right on me. It took about 4 weeks for neck to be back to normal.

FYI:

The FDA have banned 23 more whitening products.

The reason cited for the proposed ban is that studies in rodents show “some evidence” that hydroquinone may act as a carcinogen or cancer-causing chemical, although its cancer-causing properties have yet to be proved in humans. Hydroquinone also has been linked with the medical condition known as ochronosis in which the skin becomes dark and thick. Dome-shaped yellowish spots and grayish-brown spots also are observed in ochronosis among black women and men in South Africa, Britain, and the U.S. Ochronosis has been observed in conjunction with hydroquinone use even in persons who have used hydroquinone-containing cosmetics for a short time. Some studies also report abnormal function of the adrenal glands and high levels of mercury in people who have used hydroquinone-containing cosmetics. For these reasons, hydroquinone has already been banned in Japan, the European Union, and Australia.

Any skin-lightening products containing hydroquinone would be considered new drugs, according to the proposed FDA regulations. The products would require FDA approval before being sold to the public and would only be available with a doctor’s prescription.

Skin Creams, Soaps and Lotions Marketed as Skin Lighteners and Anti-aging Treatments: May Contain the Toxic Metal, Mercury. BB creams, as well. Read ingredients, it may contain TITANIUM.

Issue: FDA notified healthcare professionals and warned consumers not to use skin creams, beauty and antiseptic soaps, or lotions that might contain mercury. The products are marketed as skin lighteners and anti-aging treatments that remove age spots, freckles, blemishes and wrinkles. Adolescents also may use these products as acne treatments. Products with this toxic metal have been found in at least seven states.

Example from YA! “I used hydroquinone to reduce the hyperpigmentation of dark spots on my face and i can tell my skin is more sensitive to the sun so i wear sunscreen. Im wondering how long after you stop using hydroquinone does your skin become back to its normal sensitivity to sunlight. It’s been two months so far cheers :)”

Example: “So i used this kojic soap and it really lightens my face to the point that it doesnt match in my neck.. please help me 🙁 Ill die in humiliation! ;( How to get my skin back? Or is there a darkening soap? Hehe. Pleaseee. How can i darken my face :((“
