How do you pronounce ‘Qilin’, the Chinese mythical creature?
I have searched online for the correct pronunciation of "Qilin," the mythical creature from Chinese folklore, but I have been unable to find a conclusive answer. Can anyone provide guidance on how to pronounce it? Thank you!

Qilin or the Chinese unicorn like animal is pronounced like the English words “Cheer Lynn”, as an English man pronounced it, without pronouncing the “r” at the end of Cheer. The “Ch” is pronounced as the “Ch” in “Cheese or cheek” and “lynn” rhymes with “violin”.
The “q” is almost like the “ch” in English, but not exactly. To pronounce it correctly, your teeth must be in the same position they are when you close your mouth. The tip of the tongue is placed on the roof of your mouth, closed to the teeth.
The length of the “i” sound is kind of in between the “i” in the English word “it” and the “ea” in “eat,” but closer to the “ea” than “i.” The rest of the letters are pronounced like what they are in English.
Finally, say both “qi” and “lin” with a rising tone (as both these characters are pronounced with the 2nd tone) and you get the pronunciation of Qilin.
