How do you take a taxi ?

Im the type of person that doesnt like taking taxis or the bus at all :>:o some thingg about it , i just cant do it. The problem is that i have to get used to it , cause im not always going to get a ride to places i want to go. Also having my provisional license with no car is a no go. So id rather start taking the taxi to partys & stuff, I just have no clue how it works thoughh. How much do they charge you ? does it depends on the distance or how close it is? or what.

Most taxis have a “flag drop” rate which is the price you have to pay for stopping the taxi basically. If you get in the car and decide you don’t want to take the taxi anymore you’ll still have to pay the flag drop rate. This can be anywhere from 2-5 dollars depending where you are. Then there is a per 1/2 mile or per mile rate. If you’re stuck in traffic a lot of taxi services will have a rate per hour. The rate in my area is 28 dollars an hour for traffic delay.
