How do you turn your electricity back on onced it was disconnected?
My electricity was cut off, and I pleaded with the technician to turn it back on. My bill indicated that I had 13 more days before disconnection, but he mentioned that I had received a disconnect notice, which I did not. My daughter requires breathing treatments, and he told me to go ahead and turn the electricity back on, saying that people do it all the time, but I should make sure to pay the bill soon after he leaves. I have no idea how to do that. It's 100 degrees outside, and I was in the middle of cooking for my 4-year-old daughter. Can someone please help me?

This happened once, but I wasn't home when it happened, which was worse because the house had time to turn into a literal oven before we could do something about it. The bill had been paid and it was a mistake on the electric company's part. My hubby and I came home to find the power out at 5:00pm and it was summer in FL (100 degrees F). They had shut it off that morning sometime and it was 120 F in the house easily with no A/C going all day. (In FL it is actually illegal for a landlord to not provide a working A/C due to high deaths from heat there) The light company was open till 5:30 pm and we got out our old phone that doesn't need electricity and my hubby called them and they tried to tell him because it was late in the day that we would have to wait till the following morning to cut it back on, even though it was their mistake. My husband had to raise mortal hell at them and tell them they would be paying for the fridge full of food that was going to go bad and if either of us endured heat stroke or any other medical condition as a result of not having running water and A/C that they would be sued big time. Then they sent someone in 20 minutes to turn it back on. Had my hubby not threatened them they would have just gotten around to it when they felt like it. How rude on both counts, of turning it off wrongly, and then giving us a hassle about getting it back on immediately! Glad we don't live there anymore for certain!

It depends on how it was shut off. Around here they come out and take the meter and put a lock over the hole where the meter went. If that's the case, there is no way to turn it back on. However, if your meter is still connected and if there is a box under your meter, there may be a black switch inside that box. If so just lift the lid on the box and push up on the black switch and it'll come on.

i got a disconnect notice that they are going to shut my power off i called them and told them i would pay the whole bill when i get my disability check in 2 days if my power gets shut off how long does it take comed to turn it back on
you should go to your town board and report you daughters condition, are you using your home computer, this sounds a little fishy to me,if your daughter is sick, your husband should have gone and paid the bill, also if you have a condition like the one you stated the utility company can"t shut off the electricity, because they could have a big lawsuit in there hands.by putting the power back on you might get a big summons.
Don't try to tamper with the electrical equipment - it is extremely dangerous (and a felony in most areas). Try calling the power company to explain your daughter's condition and needs, and make an agreement to pay the bill. If that doesn't work, try calling the local TV station's consumer help line - maybe they could embarrass the power company into helping you out for a few days.
And if attempting your own "service" turn on, they read the meter and will , next time, disconnect at your "vault" or pole. That is a little harder to reconnect, and so is the pole voltage! (like 600 volts!)
