How long does it take to boil celery so it is soft?
How long does it typically take to boil celery until it becomes soft? I'm asking because I'm making soup, and after 15 minutes of boiling, the celery still seems a bit hard. Any advice on the ideal cooking time or tips for ensuring it softens properly would be greatly appreciated.

I want to know because I am making soup with it and it seems a little hard still after 15 minutes of boiling.
All these answers are different, and all in different situations. It'll take as long as it'll take you really. The best way to go is to trial and error. Use a fork or skewer to pierce a celery stick while its boiled for a while. The only way to go is to keep boiling it and using this method till the celery is easily pierced. You will be able to feel the texture through how much pressure you have to apply to pierce it.
When I make white cнιcκen chili, it calls for diced celery and onion. The easiest way to soften these is to saute in a little butter (or some alternative) in a pan for about 10 minutes. You can test the firmness with a fork or by simply eating a piece of the celery. Now, I imagine you can do something similar in the bottom of your soup pot and just drain excess before adding the rest of the ingredients. I may actually try that myself next time to reduce the amount of cleanup! ?
celery as a cooked vegetable is great cook by steaming like asparagus only until limp and serve with or without a sauce also makes a great cream soup by using tinned skim milk. ᑕнιcκenʙʀᴇᴀsт in oven at 350 about 20 to 35 minutes , depending on if boned and thickness, best to use meat thermometer.also, best covered or poached and be cautious of not drying out when skinned. Shrimp is great addition to diet as is any sea food.Try to eat one meal a week of seafood and one of vegetarian

Obviously longer than 15 minutes so I'd say 20 to 25 minutes.
there is no exact number of minutes.
