How long does it take to walk 1.6 miles?

How long does it typically take to walk a distance of 1.6 miles? I'm interested in understanding the average walking pace for this distance and any factors that might influence the time it would take, such as terrain or individual fitness levels.

I used to to try to walk 1.5 miles in 18 minutes and could never do it. It took me about 20, if I was walking fast. So 1.6 miles, at a brisk pace, probably 22 minutes. If you are walking at a moderate pace, probably about 30 minutes.

If you march to a navy band march you march at 120 beats per minute. Therefore given that you may take a slightly less than 1 metre pace a kilometre would take about 9 or 10 minutes. A mile is 1.61 kilometres so you add another .61 onto the final time. I would average it out to about 14-15 minutes at a rough guess. If you take into account that you won't be able to march at the same pace for the whole trip I think 15 minutes is not too bad.

Because everyone's pace is different, it may take you anywhere from 30-40 min to walk 1.6 miles.

I know for a fact that I can walk 1.8 miles in 40 min when I'm by myself, but it takes me 45 min if I'm with my 7year old. I first discovered how long it takes me to walk 1 to 2 miles by walking at my own pace on a treadmill. If you have access to a gym or a treadmill, then take a walk on one and time yourself.

I know this question is old but my thoughts.

How fast someone can walk 1.6 miles depends on lots of factors. Is that person in good physical/cardio shape? Does the person walk slow, a medium pace, or fast? Is there any hills involved?

I can walk 1.5 miles in 20-25 minutes because I walk fast and I am tall. Usually somewhere in the middle is my time.

To walk 1.5 miles for the average person probably between 30-40 minutes. It also depends on the factors I listed above.

I walk about 3.5 miles in an hour. So half an hour i guess...

It obviously depends how fast you walk. If you walk fast then it should take no more than 20mins.
