how many lines does a free verse poem have in a stanza?

In traditional poetry, it's common to find stanzas consisting of four lines. However, I'm curious about free verse poetry. How many lines can a stanza have in a poem that employs free verse? I need this information for my English project.

Ugh… All poetry needs structure, even free verse. It means you could have 4 lines, 5, 6 per stanza… you choose the structure and then make it work for your piece.

Here’s a good article:

A stanza is one “verse” of a poem, one group of lines separated by a space from the stanzas before and/or after it. Technically, the separate verses of a poem are called stanzas only if they all have the same number of lines and use the same meter and rhyme scheme. Otherwise, they’re called “strophes.” So strictly speaking, in order for it to be divided into stanzas rather than strophes, a poem has to use meter, and probably uses rhyme. But many people use the word “stanza” to describe any verse, any separate section of any poem, even a free-verse poem that doesn’t use rhyme or meter.

“In contrast, the modern or contemporary free verse poem requires no particular stanza length and no particular rhyme scheme. A free verse poem can have one of three types of stanzas: A single stanza. Several stanzas with the same number of lines. Several stanzas, each with a different number of lines.”

free verse is exactly that. Free from any restrictions, it can be as many stanzas as you want it to be!

For it to be a free verse, it can be as long as you want it to be, because it’s “free”- go for it. ?
