According to Wikipedia the volume is “393 cu mi (1,639 km³)”This volume is the same as given in the earlier answer but it may be easier for you to multiply it out if you work from the cubic kilometers. One cubic meter is 1000 liters. One cubic kilometer is 1000 meters cubed or 1,000,000,000 cubic meters. Therefore a cubic kilometer is 1,000,000,000,000 liters. There are 1,639 cubic kilometers (if the figure is right) so you get 1,639,000,000,000,000 liters…..I’m a dunce at calculating anything but you get the drift of how to do it now.I can’t see the earlier answer while I write this — it should be the same (more or less) or one or both of us is calculating wrong.I actually live in Toronto. Lake Erie is very shallow and doesn’t have much water, Lake Ontario also. Most of the water in the Great Lakes system is actually in Lake Superior which is both large and deep. The other lake with a large percentage of the world’s surface fresh water is Lake Baikal in Russia. It is not so large area wise, but extremely deep, giving it a huge volume of water.... Show More
