How many different ways can a committee of 2 members be selected from a club with 12 members? The options are 2, 33, 66, or 132 ways.

I’m afraid the guy above is wrong. It’s a combination, not a permutation problem. It doesn’t matter the order of the members of the club. A group made with Juan and Maria would be the same group made with Maria and Juan. So the answer would be half what he said, or 66.

Or you can simply put 12C2 in your calculator.

12 * 11 = 132 ways

since there are 12 ppl to choose from, 12 people can fill the first spot and thus only 11 people are left to fill the second spot, since the second spot cant be filled by the guy in the first spot.
