I am a Mercedes Mechanic in the Chicagoland area. Techs start out around 11-15 hour for year one after 5-7 years they can earn around $30 the average tech gets paid about 50-55 hours per week depending on the time of the year. The everage tech making $30 per hour also has about $30,000 in tools. A plumber in the same metro area makes about $40 an hour. I have never heard of anyone making $45 dollars an hour or booking 200 hours per week

i know of a very skillled mercedes benz master techinician, with over five years experiance and he makes, get this, 18 dollars an hour!!!!!!

alot of it depends on which dealer you work at. but yea, chances are you will be underpaid and overworked.

Yes, they do make over $45 dollars/hr. Anyone with a Master Tech certification from Mercedes is usually worth their weight in gold. Remember that only Mercedes Benz dealers have “Master Tech” certified mechanics. They pay to have their mechanics certified. Its a win, win situation for all involved. The tech gets paid on book rate for the work completed. The dealership gets a mechanic that can book over 200 hrs on average a week and the shop runs at optimum efficiency. Most master certified techs working at a Mercedes dealer will make over $100k a year. Some make much more than that. Like I said, they are the backbone of any good dealer. If your local MB dealer doesn’t have a master certified tech, then take your car elsewhere!

They can depending on your location. I think it would be wise to get in to law or medicine. My father makes $300/hr as a medical lawyer.

If they work at a dealership, they charge at least over $100.00/hr for labor, however independent garages may charge less.
