My two sisters and I are planning a trip from Missouri to Florida (my parents will be driving, though, haha). We're going to spend about a week and a half there, visiting Universal Studios for a few days and then heading to my grandma's house on the beach. We're also considering looking at houses down there. I mentioned our trip to give you an idea of how many times we might need to refill the gas and other related details. We thought it would be a cool experience to travel in a tour bus like the one our friends in the band The Maine use, which has three beds on each side. I'm curious about the cost of such a bus and what kind of gas mileage it typically gets. I’m 12, so I don't have much knowledge about cars and gas costs, but I thought it would be fun to explore this. Thanks!

Well a luxury RV as a guide would cost you $1,000,000+

They get about 5MPG which means every 5miles you drive, you’ve burn’t a gallon of gas.

So, if you want to work out how much it’s going to cost you to get from missouri to florida in your new tour bus, you can work it out like this.

1200Miles / 5MPG = 240 Gallons

Then

240 Gallons X $3.60 a Gallon = $864

Oh! and the ride home, that’s $1728 minus depreciation, wear and tear, oil etc.

Wait, so you want to start a band because you want to get the fancy tour bus? And you are 12?

There are so many flaws in this question…

But anyway, just get an RV. It will still be ridiculously expensive though, over $1000. Gas milage is awful. Maybe 5 or 6 miles to the gallon. (Your parents car probably gets at around 20, and they still complain about gas prices, am I right?)

Most of those buses are leased, but new they run from about 1.2–1.5 million depending on how they are equiped.
