How much does cartilage piercings cost..?
What is the typical cost of cartilage piercings? Additionally, how old do you need to be to get one without parental consent? What steps should I take to keep the piercing clean and prevent infection? Lastly, could you provide some pros and cons of getting a cartilage piercing? Thank you!

they do it with a needle and just stick it through then put the jewelry in. (some unprofessional places do it with a piercing gun, but that carries high risk of infection since they cant be cleaned and carry lots of bacteria and sometimes disease) also dont get it done with a gun because your cartilage can collapse! (click to see example of what i mean)

also guns crush the cartillage which is bad and makes it take sometimes YEARS to heal.
if you get it done with a needle it will take at least 6 months up to 1 year to heal. do not take it out nomatter what (or change the jewelry) before it is healed.
oh and whoever actually uses piercing guns is not a professional (like people at the mall or claires) they might make a mistake with your piercingh and it can come out looking bad or pierced the wrong way. (for claires i know that the only training they have is a 30 minute video on piercing)
they will also tell you to twist a piercing while its healing which is BAD advice, you DO NOT want to twist the piercing because the “crusties” can get inside infecting it and/or irritating it a lot. it also lets bacteria in.
they hurt more than regular ear piercings because cartilage is somewhat like thin bone. you wont be able to sleep on whatever side its on for about a month and itll just be uncomfortable and sometimes hurt afterwards. also for a while it will hurt when your taking a shower because your hair always gets caught in it and its VERY painful the first month.
do sea salt soaks to clean (1/4 tsp sea salt to 18 oz warm water soak 5-10 minutes a day)
you have to be 18 with ID to get it done alone, anythign under requires parental consent.
pros-looks good
cons-infection, ear collapsing, keloids, bad for sports, painful, takes long time to heal, etc.
I just got mine both pierced a few weeks ago and they hurt when you get them pierced more than a normal lobe piercing, my mom took me because I’m 13 but you can go alone if you are 18 and have an ID. I would recommend only getting one side done and then do the other one a few months later because when you sleep you will want to lay on the other side. Mine cost about $90 because I got it done at a professional tattoo and piercing place and I got a expensive mental because I’m allergic to nickel like 65% of people so I would get it pierced with a gold earring and a needle. Hope this helped
Get it done by a professional , not some person with a gun!
Guns crack cartilage and are not sterile at all
Usually between $25 – $50
Clean it with sea salt soaks ?
Cons – hard to sleep on for a while , takes a while to heal
Pros – looks super cute ?

i got my cartliage pierced at piercing pagoda a few months back, i lovee it! they only charge you half the price for a pair of earrings when you get your cartliage pierced there, so for me it was only around 27 dollars. dont get two done, youll save money getting just one and one would probably look better anyway. plus if you got two, there would be more pain afterwards. hope this helped ?

where im from you have to be 18 i got mine done when i turned 13 and my mom was there, but i also did a second cartilage piercing myself and it worked fine. pros-its super cute and the piercing part doesnt hurt and it closes easily if you dont want it. cons-it gets sore and it takes a long time to heal so it closes fast.

You have to be 18 to get a piercing without parental consent. It usually costs between 20-30 dollars depending on where you go and the location of where it is. When you get the piercing the person who did it usually will give first-timers a solution to keep it clean. Its really your decision to get it done I have the top cartilages of both ears done and I got them one at a time because you have to sleep on the other side because it was really sensitive the first couple of weeks. And becareful when you are combing your hair not to get it hooked on the comb or brush.
you gotta be 18 unless a parent wants to go with. keep it clean with soap and water. dial liquid soap works great. cons are its gonna hurt and you will wake yourself up in the middle of the night sleeping on it! and it usually costs 30-40 bucks. but a lot of shops do 10 dollar special days so be on the look out
I got mine done for a little over $20. I got mine with a gun which everyone said was a bad idea but it turned out fine and is already healed, I got it done last august. The pain isn’t too bad, the woman that did mine had to take off the original backing that went on with the gun and put a metal ball on it and that was the worst part. Around me, you have to be 16 to get it without parental consent
