In the wild, lions are opportunistic. If they manage to kill a large animal, they may gorge and eat up to 30lbs of meat, then not eat for several days. If they are only killing small prey, they eat whenever they area able to catch something. Due to the heat of the Savannah, they hunt in the morning and at night, so there is not a specific time they LIKE to eat. 
In captivity, most zoos and other organizations feed on a 5-6 day feed, 1-2 day starve schedule. I worked at a big cat rescue for over 7 years and we fed every day but one each week. The cats were generally fed in the mornings. The reason for the starve day, which sounds cruel, is because they do not eat every day, or several times a day, naturally, and their metabolisms are not suited to multiple small meals, like humans are.
