How to do 432 divided by 12 by hand?

Divide 43 by 12; the maximum 12 can go into 43 is 3x of 12, which is 36, for 4 is too small. Place 3 in the quotient above the column 3 is in because we are dividing from there.Now subtract the 43 – 36 and put the remainders together, taking the 2 down. (the reason I omitted 2 from the previous step is only to avoid confusion for subtraction process.) The remainders put together is 72. Now repeat the process; divide 72 by 12, which is 6.
