How to fill a blood vial necklace?
I am considering how to fill a blood vial necklace and was thinking about pricking my finger (or perhaps another area) to obtain the blood. It seems like a straightforward method. I have alcohol pads and a clean needle on hand. Is this an acceptable way to do it? What is the "proper" method for filling a blood vial? Just to clarify, I do not plan on going to a doctor or the emergency room for this procedure.

Why not make fake blood? It will be less unsanitary and wouldn’t hurt.
But the most effective way is through an (EDIT) vein, like the doctor does. It would only take a few seconds to fill and would hurt much less.

Okay…nevermind! I was originallly going to say vein, but the picture said artery and the site looked credible! Every time I’ve had blood drawn that is how the doctor/nurse did it and it worked great.

The best way to do this would be to get a venipucnture tube. Labs usually carry them, but it is possible to get in the general public if you know the right people. They are the same as the ones they use to draw your blood in the hospital. They come in different colors on the top. The best on for your purposes would be the red top because it has a yellowy orange goop at the bottom of it so that the blood won’t coagulate. You would also have to get the right gauge pin for it. This way you stick your self pull ot the pin and the top of the “canister” or tube re-sills itself. Then you can figure out a way to attach a chain to make it a necklace out of it. Hope that helps!

“But the most effective way is through an artery, like the doctor does.”
NO!
That is not how it is done. Blood is drawn from veins except for when someone does an arterial blood gas, and that is not something done routinely unless someone is having pulmonary related issues.

What is a blood vial necklace? Are you filling a vial with your own blood?
You could get a syring to fill it. I think the blood would coagulate though, it sounds pretty messy…

If you can get it, it’s called ‘heprin’. Used in IV’s to prevent clotting at the needle/skin interface. It might be a controlled substance, not sure.
