How to find registered owner of a car with a VIN number?
I sold my car several years ago to a dealership, and I am now interested in purchasing it back. How can I find the name and address of the current owner using the car's VIN number? Is it possible to obtain this information from the DMV?

I used to sell cars in America. in OHIO.
NOT THE DMV…..At the county courthouse, a record is kept of EVERY owner, in sequence, of the same car. They would have the records of each title transfer, from owner to owner.
However, this may be a matter of public privacy… and only the police or a private detective could intervene.
If the last owner in your county moved to another state… I think you will be lost forever…gooood luck.

Its a sensible way to start. The site allows you to do a no cost scan simply to find out if any sort of data is in existence. A smaller analysis is done without cost. To get a detailed report its a modest payment.
