My younger brother plays video games all day and night, essentially whenever he can. He frequently skips his homework and neglects his responsibilities. The worst part is that he stays up all night shouting into his microphone, and since I share a room with him, it makes the situation even more unbearable. I often ask my parents to intervene and tell him to turn it off, but they always respond with the same excuse: “Oh, he’s just a kid; let him play his games!” I feel frustrated because I can’t even get near the computer without him throwing a fit, yelling at me, and calling my parents for backup. His gaming habits are causing me insomnia and making it difficult for me to sleep. Is there any way to address his gaming addiction or encourage my parents to take action?

You end it. Take away his stuff and with your parents permission, dismantle it. He will thank you later when he has a good life with a good job. His addiction, i would say, is becoming very serious and soon, if he carries on till he is older, there will be no hope for him. Force him to do homework, and if needed, help him.
