Elias is a greek name *sigh* I think greek names should be pronounced greek. I mean you guys already made the name prophet Eliyahu (hebrew) into Elijah. J was supposed to be silent but people couldn’t keep up with it so it’s an actually j sound. Both Elijah and Elias are from the same origin. I think E- Lee-us is closest to original pronunciation but this only matters if you care about authenticity. Just be aware that if you goto Greece (Elias is a greek name), people are going to pronounce it E-Lee-us and you’d be the only one saying e-Lye-us so don’t go correcting them because again.. Elias is a greek name.

I say “ee-LIY-uss”, but it could also be said “eh-LEE-ahs”. I guess it all depends on where you’re from (like Madeline can be said “ma-duh-LINE”, “ma-duh-LEEN” or “ma-duh-LIN” ). Different cultures pronounce their vowels differently. In America, it’s commonly “ee-LIY-uss”, but the original Greek pronunciation is “eh-LEE-ahs”. Either pronunciation is acceptable, though.

PS I think Ariana and Elias (ee-LIY-uss) sound really good together and Ari and Eli are really cute.

I’d pronounce it e-LIE-us, with the accent on the second syllable.
