I have Model cechh01 PS3. What is this exactly, and does it have backwards compatibility?

I have a Model CECHH01 PS3 and I have a few questions:

  1. The box states that it is a 40GB model, which corresponds to the model number CECHH01. However, when I check the system information, it shows that it is using 45GB of a total of 55GB. Does this mean it is actually a 60GB system?

  2. Is this model backwards compatible? Currently, I do not have any PS1 or PS2 games to test it with.

  3. Why does it indicate 55GB if it is labeled as a 40GB model?

Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

only models that have backwards compatibily were the original ones before 2008 so anything below that should have it

Three questions:

1 Box says 40GB, and this model number is cechh01, which is 40GB PS3, however on system information it says using 45 GB of 55 GB, which is a 60 gigabyte is it not??

2 Is this model backwards compatible. I don't have any PS1 or PS2 games to try out on it at the moment....

The 60GB or 20GB (discontinued) with 95% or 80GB (currently hard to find) with 80% backwards compatibility . The 40GB has NO PS2 backwards compatibility at all. Every PS3 has PS1 backwards compatibility (about 95%).

For PSX: 20, 40, 60, and 80 versions. They're more or less 100% compatible with PSX games. For PS2: 20, 60, and 80 gb versions. The 20 and 60 gb versions can pretty much play all PS2 games. The 80 gb can play almost all PS2 games. The 20 and 60 gb has the emotion engine and the PS2's graphic engine. The 80 doesn't have the emotion engine, so it uses software emulation to play PS2 games. Obviously, hardware emulation is better than software emulation.
