I left my clothes accidently in washer for more than a week and they STINK?
I accidentally left my clothes in the washer for over a week, and now they have a strong odor. I completed the wash cycle again, but our laundry detergent doesn't leave a noticeable "fresh laundry" scent. What household item can I add to the wash to help make my clothes smell fresh again?

add vinegar and baking soda along with the soap and extend the wash cycle that should do the trick

Use Roma Laundry Detergent (made in Mexico) can be found in most stores in So. Calif. with a cup of baking soda in Cold water. Put the Roma Detergent and the Baking Soda in the washer with Cold water. Let the washer swish the solution around until dissolved for a few minutes. Then load the cloths in the Washer. Reset the washer for a full normal cycle. The cloths will not stink.The cloths will also be cleaner and the whites will be whiter. Good luck

Start the washer again and add 1/2 gallon of white vinegar. Let it go through the cycle and then start it over again using your detergent.

Vinegar.
Vinegar will kill the mold that has grown.
Do not use baking soda with the vinegar nor soap because baking soda and soap will neutralize the vinegar. You can add vinegar to the clear water of the final rinse cycle as the first poster advised you.
I usually wash them again. Using a really scented soap. My fav is Gain apple mango tango. My washer also has seperate spots for extra things so i add oxyclean and some gain apple mango tango fabric softener. Let it wash and everythings smelling great again! (def not like vinegar! hate that smell)

Wash your clothes in vinegar. It's a natural deodorizor and a natural fabric softener. But, it works everytime.
