You can get shiny pokemon in all three of them, though they are rare without respective cute tricks (chaining in Platinum, Breeding with pokemon that comes from a different language cart in HG/SS and of course the Red Gyarados). Platinum makes some slight tweaks in the storyline to try to focus the storyline on Giratina. It has a few nice addons, but if you already have Pearl or Diamond, it is probably not worth getting. If you havenât played through one of those two, however, I would say get Platinum over those two.
