Predict the formula for a compound made from X+ and Y–.?
I have a couple of questions regarding chemical compounds and electron configurations:
1) I believe the formula for the compound made from X+ and Y– is XY2. Is this correct or incorrect? Could you please explain why?
2) Can you help me with naming the following compounds? I think my answers were wrong: - MnCl2 - SiCl2 - SrCl2
3) Lastly, I would like to know the ground state electron configuration of tungsten (W) using the noble-gas shorthand notation. I wrote [Xe] 6s² 4f¹ 5d⁴. Is this correct or incorrect? Please provide an explanation.
