Rats can’t eat radishes. I gave 2 of mine half a radish and it killed them both…?
I want to share a concerning experience regarding feeding rats. I recently gave two of my pet rats half a radish, and unfortunately, it resulted in their deaths. Can anyone explain why radishes are harmful to rats? Please, I urge all rat owners to avoid feeding their pets radishes!

yes, rats can eat radishes.
spicyness isn't going to harm them, unless you're looking at crazy hot chillis.
rats start out with a new food by trying only a little bit. if they found it too spicy, they wouldn't eat more.
you should always check out new foods BEFORE feeding them, but radishes are safe.
there must have been something else wrong, unfortunately.
I seriously think it must have been something else, since you fed them a small amount. I just doubt that a taste of radishes can kill two rats. Please, try and look into it a bit more. Perhaps you can take your rats' bodies to a professional who can tell you the cause of death.
Anyways, here's what I posted in your other question:
Are you sure it was the radishes that killed your rats? Rats can get very sick, very quickly, very easily. For a variety of reasons. Usually from respiratory issues. Were your rats sneezing/wheezing, breathing loudly, or had porphyrin (red stuff around eyes and nose) prior to being fed the radishes? If so, they could have died from something else.
You should have looked into it before you fed your rats the radishes. Radishes aren't extremely dangerous for rats, but should be fed in very small amounts every once in a great while. If you fed them too much, that could have caused some problems. If you fed them only a small amount (and never fed it to them often), I'm sure they must have died some other way.
I'm so sorry for the loss. I hope you figure out exactly what happened to your furry friends.
Pretty sure your rats died from something else, all of mine have had Radish like twice before and are fine (and I google if they can eat something before I buy it so I had to have found at least 3 sites that said they could). Sorry for your loss though. ?
Why did you feed them radishes without checking if it was okay? Rats eat tons of veggies and they keep them healthy. Broccoli, carrots, green beans, lettuce. They also like banana chips, sunflower seeds and most nuts.
That's not true because rats can eat radishes . My rats loved them so if your rattys died it wasn't from eating radishes. Sorry for you loss.
